To achieve the goal of maximizing nitrogen efficiency while keeping investment costs low, the TalkingFields Fertilization service delivers the information needed.
The TalkingFields Fertilization service provides site-specific nitrogen requirement maps for all fertilizer applications of crops in kg N/ha. The method for calculating the site-specific N requirement combines current with long-term biomass patterns.
Whether the fertilization takes place prior to seeding or throughout the season, Vista’s TalkingFields Fertilization service always provides an optimized distribution of the fertilizer application.
The service is available for various crops and with varying numbers and dates of map deliveries.
Biomass (leaf area) and chlorophyll content can be mapped separately with Sentinel-2. The chlorophyll content of the crop is closely correlated with its N uptake, so that the current N uptake can be continuously compared with the (theoretically) available N content in the soil. This allows the fertilization to be dynamically adjusted over time. Some of the maps show clearly different patterns, which can be explained, for example, by partial manure applications.

The nitrogen requirement according to TalkingFields NManager Pro Cereals is delivered in spring for each upcoming fertilization. Additional constant fertilizer applications can be taken into account in the process as specified by the farmer.
TalkingFields NManager Pro Cereals is available from a field size of 1 ha. The data is delivered in a standard format for FMIS-integration. The data can be handled efficiently via API and the service is available worldwide.
