Darmstadt, April 30th 2026 –VISTA Remote Sensing in Geosciences GmbH participated in the National Forum for Remote Sensing and Copernicus 2026 (Nationales Forum für Fernerkundung und Copernicus 2026).
The event, hosted by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space together with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), brought together experts and innovators from across the Earth Observation and Copernicus community.
During the forum, our CEO Dr. Heike Bach presented VISTA’s latest work on YPSGlobe – our global crop yield intelligence service providing worldwide yield and production forecasts. By combining Earth Observation, geo and weather data with the PROMET crop growth model and AI-based methods, YPSGlobe creates a digital twin for agriculture and delivers statistically robust, high-resolution forecasts updated weekly up to eight weeks before harvest.
Our colleague Christian Miesgang also contributed to the session “Copernicus für eine Landwirtschaft der Zukunft” (“Copernicus for the Agriculture of the Future”). His presentation focused on big data in yield statistics and why global yield simulations are becoming increasingly important for modern agriculture.
Participating in the forum provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with partners, stakeholders and fellow innovators shaping the future of Earth Observation applications for agriculture.
