Hamburg/Munich, 13 October 2026 – Ferlynx Software GmbH has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Vista Geowissenschaftliche Fernerkundung GmbH (Vista). The Munich-based company adds leading capabilities in satellite-based Earth observation, scientific modelling and AI to Ferlynx, a group within CHAPTERS Group. Substantial additional growth capital will support further product development and international expansion.
Founded in 1995, Vista has been developing digital solutions for agriculture, water and resource management, and food security. The company combines satellite and weather data with its own physical models and artificial intelligence. Its technologies include the environmental and crop growth model PROMET and the digital twin based on it. Vista operates in more than 25 countries, offering products such as YPSILON for global yield forecasting, TalkingFields for smart farming services, VariableRain for irrigation advice, and ClimateHarvest for carbon farming solutions. The company also partners with the scientific community across the water-energy-food nexus and works on projects for organizations such as the European Space Agency (ESA).
From observing nature to managing it digitally
Ferlynx aims to build a leading European Digital Nature Platform, bringing together specialist companies across Earth observation, geospatial and environmental data, agriculture, forestry and operational software. The vision is to connect real-world observations with deeper understanding, better decisions and action on the ground.

Existing shareholders Dr Heike Bach and Prof Wolfram Mauser will retain a substantial ownership interest and continue to shape Vista’s future alongside Ferlynx. The partners have also agreed on a long-term succession plan. Vista will continue to operate independently, retaining its brand, team and established customer relationships.
In addition to growth capital, Vista will benefit from CHAPTERS Group capabilities in AI transformation, technology and organisational development. Ferlynx will contribute its focused approach to building a connected European Digital Nature ecosystem.
