Munich, 19.01.2026– Vista GmbH sets the course for its future: At the end of 2025, the previous shareholders, Dr. Heike Bach, founder and managing director of Vista, and Prof. Wolfram Mauser, renowned scientist in the fields of geography, remote sensing, and environmental research, repurchased the shares from BayWa AG. This means that Vista is once again completely independent after eight years of joint corporate development.
“The collaboration with BayWa was an important and valuable phase in Vista’s journey,” says Dr. Heike Bach. “We would like to thank BayWa for the trust and constructive partnership over the past years. We will of course maintain our connection with BayWa in the future, but it is now important for Vista to be able to develop freely in all areas, especially internationally.”
Vista is not only active in the field of agriculture, but has also been providing innovative solutions for managing the water-energy-food nexus for over 30 years. In recent years, irrigation management solutions have been greatly expanded, leading to the internationalization of sales markets. Vista’s VariableRain solution offers new opportunities, especially for African farmers. Vista products are already being used successfully in several African countries.
Vista also intends to devote more attention to the topics of water intelligence and the connection between energy and agriculture (agrivoltaics).
“Water and energy are pressing issues of our time, constantly competing with agricultural production. Only by combining all factors can we resolve these conflicts efficiently. That’s why we need to move forward with full force,” says Prof. Dr. Wolfram Mauser. “Vista has everything it takes to make a significant contribution to solving these challenges. For example, we are already in the process of developing a global high-resolution yield forecast that will enable a new dimension of prediction.”
The new ownership structure gives Vista additional entrepreneurial flexibility and enables it to respond more quickly to market changes. At the same time, the company is positioning itself as an attractive investment for new investors.
