Individual Solutions

Vista has always been known for developing individual solutions for all kinds of problems of our customers and partners.

May it be a question we deliver an analysis for or the need for a service we develop together.

Our unparalleled competence of combining remote sensing data with digital twinning, modelling and AI, together with decades of experience in acquisition and processing of remote sensing data at scale, makes Vista the go-to partner for your individual solution.

Example: Dry Matter Monitoring for Silage Maize

Vista’s dry matter monitoring for silage maize was developed for an ag company providing a service to their customers. It enables farmers to plan ahead and act at the right time during the silage harvest. Maps and means grants them knowledge about the current dry matter states of the fields as well as prognoses of the ripening developments helps earlier decision-making.

The dry matter monitoring service offers weekly uploads of dry matter content maps per field from start of August until the end of the silage maize harvesting time in October. The maps include spatially distributed dry matter contents in a 10 by 10 meter resolution. Additionally maps for the following days of the week until the next update, cover the calculated dry matter development based on weather forecasts.

  • The Service remotely provides information for the drying development of maize.  The prognosis allows to act in advance and prepare earlier for the harvest.

Whereas other services often base on simple and known formulas, Vista not only includes the plant growth model Promet to evaluate water stress and physiological development, but also monitors the leaf area over time via satellites.

Vista can include additional reference data to specify dry matter content calculations for different varieties and ripening patterns.

If the Vista dry matter monitoring caught your attention, let’s talk about the possibilities!

Example: Trafficability

Too little too early – too much too late. Water.

German agriculture in vast areas suffered from too little rain and high temperatures in June in 2023.

The rain end of June and July came too late for the plants resulting in yield reductions of for winter wheat regionally up to 17 %.

Vista`s analysis also revealed that due to the rainy July 31% of winter wheat areas in Germany were affected by reduced drivability during harvest period.

The map rendering covers the complete harvest time period for wheat starting first of July to August 5 and marks in blue where the soil was too wet to drive on with heavy harvest machines.

On average 18% of the winter wheat area could not be harvested during the optimal time period for harvest.
